Fall in the Lowcountry

There’s a reason guests return to the Lowcountry in the fall. As summer’s humidity begins to ease, Beaufort settles into beautifully comfortable days, with temperatures cooling from the 80s in September to the 70s by October and November. Evenings become pleasantly cool and perfect for enjoying a glass of wine or a nightly dessert on the veranda.

The pace of Beaufort begins to slow, making fall an especially lovely time to wander the historic district, stroll beneath moss-draped live oaks, and take in the golden light along the waterfront. With blue-sky afternoons, comfortable temperatures, and the unmistakable charm of the Lowcountry, fall invites you to slow down and enjoy the season.

Book your stay at our historic bed and breakfast and make the most of fall in the Lowcountry. We can’t wait to welcome you.

Beaufort Shrimp Festival

Mark your calendars! The 32nd Annual Beaufort Shrimp Festival returns to Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park on October 2 and 3. This beloved Lowcountry tradition celebrates all things shrimp, with fresh-caught shrimp dishes from local restaurants and chefs, live entertainment, a vibrant arts and crafts market, and plenty of fun along the waterfront.

Saturday morning brings the Run Forrest Run 5K through historic downtown Beaufort and across the Woods Memorial Bridge, while the festival continues throughout the weekend with live music, family-friendly activities, and, of course, plenty of shrimp to sample.

It’s one of the liveliest weekends of the fall in downtown Beaufort and one of the best times to experience the town. Make it a getaway with a stay at our boutique inn, just a short stroll from the festival, and spend your day sampling shrimp along the waterfront before returning to the veranda for a sunset and a little well-earned relaxation.

Rooms tend to fill quickly for the Beaufort Shrimp Festival weekend, so book your stay today.

Your Own Private Porch

As summer’s warmth begins to fade and the Lowcountry settles into cooler, more comfortable days, there’s no better place to enjoy the season than Room 10. Tucked on the parlor level with its own private entrance, Room 10 opens onto a private screened porch overlooking our gardens, grounds, and the Newcastle House.

Enjoy a cup of coffee in the crisp morning air, a book in the afternoon shade, or a glass of wine as the sun slips behind the trees. Inside, a king bed and private bath with a jetted tub and separate shower make it easy to unwind after a day spent exploring Beaufort.

If you’re looking for a little extra privacy and a porch all your own this fall, Room 10 may be just the escape you’ve been looking for.
